Forever Manchester is working with UK Community Foundations to distribute funding raised by the National Emergencies Trust Coronavirus Appeal. This money is being distributed to community organisations responding to the needs of local communities across Greater Manchester via our Community Support Fund.

Caring and Sharing work with vulnerable members of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities in Rochdale helping between 40 and 50 migrants, asylum seekers and refugees each week with hot meals and welfare support.

The impact of Covid-19 has raised concern and worry about the importance of providing food and hygiene products, information and utilities support during these uncertain times. Many of those supported already face a catalogue of challenges, with little or no access to income, overcoming language issues and having to rely on food and ad-hoc support from Caring and Sharing’s weekly drop-ins.

Caring and Sharing have also been working in partnership with other organisations taking referrals from local churches, mosques and voluntary organisations to support those in need.

An award from the Forever Manchester Community Support Fund is helping Caring and Sharing with the provision of food, hygiene products and basic utilities essentials for BAME families in Rochdale.
