Forever Manchester’s Connecting Communities at Christmas Awards helped out with Lovely Trees and Festive Window Treats in neighbourhoods across Greater Manchester.

We are delighted to provide £10,000 of funding to support the activities of 100 groups across Greater Manchester to connect local people and bring that Christmas spirit to life.

Some Cool Yule ideas that caught our eye included Singo Bingo, the Elvie Elf’s Kids Quiz, a Community Treasure Hunt, Cracker the Alpaca and CrafterNoon Teas.

Across Greater Manchester, our Connecting Communities at Christmas Awards helped with Community Centre window displays in Blackrod, supported Bolton’s Big Community Carol Service, a Salford Pride Christmas Party and Castleton Together festive activities.

The Gee Cross Community organised a Christmas Tree and Doorstep Carols, there were Christmas Story Windows in Salford, the Reddish Christmas Angel Trail, Levenshulme Community Christmas Windows, Christmas Dinners in Stockport, a Town Centre Trail in Hyde and a socially distanced Santa’s Grotto in Swinton.

It is always worth remembering that if you support Forever Manchester, you support all this.

Forever Manchester believes that connected communities make stronger, happier communities, so we love any activity that brings people together. Connecting Communities at Christmas awards have provided support for local groups to run a range of brilliant events and virtual activities.

During these uncertain times, the ability of local community groups and organisations to best help people in their community remains dependant on maintaining support for them.
