Forever Manchester’s Connecting Communities at Christmas Awards have ensured lots of festive cheer for lots of local people in the countdown to Christmas.
We are delighted to provide £10,000 of funding to support the activities of 100 groups across Greater Manchester to connect local people and bring that Christmas spirit to life.
In local communities across Greater Manchester awards helped with such things as a 10ft Christmas Tree for the residents of Hopton Court in Hulme. In Higher Blackley they produced Christmas Characters for window decorations while Christmas Treats were organised for the residents of Victoria Court in Stretford.
In West Didsbury, Fletcher Moss Soccer School sorted seasonal presents while in Timperley, Christmas gifts made their way to the residents of Millom Court. People crafted festive gift boxes in Hawkshaw and For the Love of Food in Eccles organised Xmas Dinner on the Doorstep. In Charlestown there were Christmas Surprises for Local Children & Senior Citizens and a Healthy Hearts Christmas party was organised for people in Irlam and Cadishead.
It is always worth remembering that if you support Forever Manchester, you support all this.
Forever Manchester believes that connected communities make stronger, happier communities, so we love any activity that brings people together. Connecting Communities at Christmas awards have provided support for local groups to run a range of brilliant events and virtual activities.
During these uncertain times, the ability of local community groups and organisations to best help people in their community remains dependant on maintaining support for them.
