We’re delighted to announce the shortlist for the ‘Captain Manchester Award’ which will be presented at Forever Manchester’s Birthday Party on Friday 18th March 2022 at at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel.

The Captain Manchester Award is given in recognition of an individual with true Mancunian spirit. This person has given their time, money, skills or resources to support communities of Greater Manchester; has gone the extra mile and embodies the spirit of Forever Manchester.
The Shortlist is:
Bethany Stevens
Employee at Maxwell Bond who set herself a fundraising challenge in December 2019 tto celebrate Forever Manchester’s 30th birthday by climbing 30 peaks across the UK. Despite the pandemic getting in the way, she managed to complete her challenge climbing the 30 peaks including Scafell, Snowdon via Crib Goch, Ben Nevis, Tryfan, and the Fairfield Horseshoe.
Charles Kwaku-Odoi
A Pentecostal minister and Chief Officer of the Caribbean & African Health Network sitting on a number of local and national governance boards and has worked selflessly to bring equity and fairness across a range of important health and wellbeing issues for people of the Caribbean and African Diaspora.
Chris Marsh
A Forever Manchester Ambassador for more than 10 years and been involved with more fundraising challenges than any other Ambassador. During lockdown he pushed himself even harder than usual by taking on seven different 10K events plus the Manchester Half Marathon!
Jenn Lutton
A Forever Manchester Ambassador and partner at Express Solicitors, Jenn has taken on several running challenges over the last few years including virtual runs, lockdown runs, the Great Manchester 10k, Manchester Marathon and a 25 hour run to raise money for Forever Manchester.
Sophie Binder
One of the driving forces behind the great fundraising efforts of Oscar Recruitment, as well as being a fantastic fundraiser in her own right. Sophie recently took on an increasingly difficult number of challenges, including the Mancheser 10k, Triathlon and the famous 3 Peak Challenge.
Stephanie Cowan
Forever Manchester Ambassador Sales Manager, Stock Exchange Hotel, raised money for Forever Manchester by climbing the UK’s 2nd highest peak, Mount Snowdon setting off at 2am, with the aim to reach the summit at first light.
