They believe that sport allows disabled people to be more independent and help the development of daily skills such as communication and teamwork skills, resourcefulness, resilience, self-esteem and a sense of belonging.

They were originally formed in 1992 as Manchester YMCA Mavericks but cemented a partnership with Manchester Giants professional basketball club in 2018 to become Manchester Giants Mavericks before becoming Manchester Revolution in September 2022 after merging with The Owls DSC.

Located at Bellevue Sports Village in Manchester their healthy sports activities club’s activities are ran by qualified coaches using specialist equipment and basketball wheelchairs. All levels are catered for and help improve the physical and mental well-being of their members.

Over the years many of their teams have gone onto win many leagues, tournaments and championships and are extremely proud of three Mavericks juniors who have gone onto play basketball at Paralympic level.
