We are delighted to announce the entertainment for our Birthday Party on Friday 18th March 2022 at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel.
The event, sponsored by Express Solicitors will bring together over 500 passionate and dedicated Forever Manchester supporters, celebrating another great year of helping local people to do extraordinary things together.
The fabulous Rowetta is our headliner for the evening. A Happy Mondays vocalist, this Manchester music queen has supported us in many ways over the years including a performance at our Mirror Ball back in 2014, popping up on our podcast and Christmas quiz, and adding her name to some fantastic artwork which was auctioned off to raise money for Forever Manchester.
Leo B. Stanley
The DJ tasked with getting you up and dancing will be former The Venue DJ Leo B. Stanley. Since the early 1980’s he’s been DJing across Manchester, and somehow still found the time to delve into the fashion world, producing the iconic Identity Clothing at Affleck’s Palace. Leo’s DJ sets are guaranteed to showcase the best of Manchester music.
Our host for the evening is none other than legendary poet, Tony Walsh aka Longfella. Our relationship with Tony stretches back to 2012 when he was commissioned to create a poem that would encapsulate the spirit of Greater Manchester by celebrating our local communities and helping to explain what Forever Manchester does. The resulting poem was This is the Place!
Plus, fantastic community acts!
The Forever Manchester Birthday Party provides the perfect opportunity to showcase some great community-based entertainment which we are excited to announce as the following:
Fat Cat Brass
Fat Cat Brass are a brass band like you’ve never experienced before. They play original arrangements of classic pop tunes from the last five decades. There’s four horn players and two drummers….who perform on stilts! The tunes will keep you singing and the rhythms will keep you dancing.
Affinity Show Choir
Affinity Show Choir have been established since June 2010, and feature over forty members. An acapella group, typically with four parts (Bass, Tenor, Baritone and Lead), they sing renditions from all genres from Billy Joel and George Michael, right up to recent pop like Rihanna and Justin Timberlake. They are at their happiest singing to an audience and making people smile.
Brink are a charity providing young people with opportunities to participate in creative projects. Using music, performance and multi-media as a method to engage disadvantaged young people, they offer participants a voice, whilst enabling them to learn new skills and build confidence and self-esteem. As part of Brink Productions, dance group Trend Kids will be performing. Based in Moss-side Manchester for over 5 years, they are an extremely talented performance group, who choreograph their own routines.
Tickets for the event are now on sale and a range of sponsorship opportunities are also available.
