We are delighted to announce the Community Entertainment for our Birthday Party on Friday 9th February 2024 at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, Oxford Street, Manchester.

The event, sponsored by Zuto, will bring together over 400 passionate and dedicated Forever Manchester supporters, celebrating another great year of helping local people to do extraordinary things together.

The Forever Manchester Birthday Party also provides the opportunity to showcase some great community based entertainment:

Powell & Rose: The Band are a dynamic 6-piece group bringing you Disco and Funk floor fillers to make an unforgettable party out of any celebration. Fronted by Harriet Rose whose powerful and emotive vocal is the perfect complement to Laura Powell’s funky guitar grooves, amongst a full-band line-up consisting of lead and backing vocals, keys, two guitars, bass, and drums, the duo deliver a 70’s experience that will have you dancing all night long.

Rhodes Bank Choir is a unique disability-led choir based at Pennine Mencap in Oldham where members have enjoyed regular sessions and undertaken community performances for more than a decade. Members enjoy the fundamentals of singing including vocal training and learning the necessary performance skills and the challenges of working towards live performances in an inclusive and happy choir with a wide and diverse repertoire.

The Ward-Mallinson School of Irish dancing based at the Irish World Heritage Centre in Cheetham Hill, teaches dancers of all ages and abilities to the very highest standards to produce regional, national and world champion dancers. The sheer joy and magic created by the captivating spirit of traditional Irish music and Irish Dance continues to influence and embrace audiences world-wide.

Formed in September 2022, Acapolla is the first Polish entertaining vocal group in the UK. This fresh-faced ensemble came together after the introduction of singing classes at the Together Family Centre in Irlam and quickly began to spread their wings. Full of colourful characters, their cover song “Dach” is all about friendship, joy, openness and being care-free, all elements they say are integral to the free-flowing nature, happy vibe and positivity of this refreshing ensemble!

We will also welcome Tony Walsh as our host for the evening. His relationship with Forever Manchester stretches back to 2012 when he was commissioned to create ‘This is the Place’, a poem that celebrates our local communities and helps to explain why Forever Manchester does what it does. Tony has also penned a number of other Forever Manchester poems which have been performed on numerous occasions at many events to great acclaim.

The night will also feature music from pianist Georgia Clark and a DJ set from Dave Foran and Nigel Clucas Wingman.
