We’d like to say an enormous thank you to Auto Trader for not only sponsoring our online Advent calendar again this year, but also for their continued support of local community groups across Greater Manchester.

Auto Trader, with its head office in Manchester city centre, has supported Forever Manchester since 2016 when they launched the Auto Trader Community Fund.  This provides a strategic focus for their community investment and when their head office moved to Manchester it was a key aim to support local communities where their support can make a meaningful difference.

Since 2016 the Auto Trader Community Fund has delivered £280,770 in funding to 302 community projects across Greater Manchester benefitting 137,995 local people.

The Auto Trader team get involved with a wide range of activities throughout the year including the 7-a-side football tournament, October Cheer Fest and this year have kindly volunteered at Forever Manchester’s pop up shop in the Corn Exchange.

The most favourite event that unfortunately they haven’t been able to deliver this year is their ‘Annual Christmas party for Older People’ usually held in the restaurant at Auto Trader’s offices. But this didn’t prevent them from bringing cheer to local communities and so they worked with Forever Manchester Community Builders, Lisa and Vikki, to deliver Christmas gifts to community projects in Ardwick and Wythenshawe in the fabulously unique Forever Manchester camper van kindly donated by Auto Trader.

Helen Robinson, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement Manager, Auto Trader said:

“We were thrilled to still be able to work with Forever Manchester to provide some festive cheer to our communities even during this challenging time. Christmas can be a lonely period for many people, and we knew how important it was to continue to do what we can, but in a safe and still, enjoyable way.”

Lisa & Vikki, Forever Manchester Community Builders:

“It’s a privilege to be a Forever Manchester Community Builder and do what we do. Getting the chance to connect Auto Trader to the communities we work in brings extra joy to our working day.”

And a few words of thanks for the community:

Martin from Brunswick Village said “What an amazing thing to do. I didn’t think I would get any gifts this year”; Mary, also from Brunswick Village explained that, “This has really lifted my spirits and means so much. What a great thing to do for the community. We can very easily be invisible this time of year”

Dynamic Engagement said “Wow for us? This is so kind. Thank you”, and Bridie -from Village 135 Knit and Natter Group said “I just want to say thank you so much to Auto Trader for their consideration and generosity.”
