With gyms shut and the need to get out of the house for our government sanctioned exercise every day, more and more people are taking up running during lockdown. Not one to miss an opportunity, Jennifer Lutton from Express Solicitors is organising a virtual 5k/10k to raise funds for Forever Manchester.

A keen runner herself, Jennifer noticed that more and more big runs, including the Great Manchester Run, are being rearranged for later in the year so she came up with the idea to plug the exercise and fundraising gap virtually.

Jennifer said: “I was gutted when all the races I had entered were cancelled or postponed and was unsure how I could still support Forever Manchester. I’ve come up with the idea of asking people to take part instead of sponsoring me to do something. I’m really excited as a few people have already signed up!!”

From 24th -31st May 2020 each runner can run a (socially distanced) 5k or 10k and will receive a medal once they’ve sent proof of the run to the organisers.

The cost of entry is £16.50 with £10 for each person coming to Forever Manchester with the rest being used to make up costs.

The Great Manchester 10k has been rebooked for Sunday 6th September 2020 and Forever Manchester still has reduced price entry for people fundraising for us. More information here.
