From Wednesday 20th December for three nights, The Vaults, a brand new temporary events space in Manchester, is hosting a pop-up theatre performance of Alan Ayckbourn’s festive comedy – Season’s Greetings. Forever Manchester is delighted that all profits made from the performance will be donated to us to help support local community activity.

The play, directed by Rick Bithell, will be the first production to be performed by Alan Ayckbourn’s newly formed theatre company, Plough On Sunday.

The Vaults, which is situated on Manchester’s iconic Deansgate, in the basement of the stunning Grade II-listed building, The Courthouse, is perfectly positioned between Spinningfields and The Great Northern. This unique space will be transformed for the performance, immersing the audience into a cosy living room on Christmas Eve. The show, which will run for three consecutive nights, will be a great addition to the festive activities already taking place in the area.

Plough On Sunday aims to bring quality theatre to new audiences by performing in venues other than established theatre spaces, promoting new and emerging talent in the North.

“The Vaults is a really interesting space, the location is ideal,” said Rick Bithell, Founder of Plough On Sunday. “The show promises to be a fantastic addition to Manchester’s festive season.”

Henry Boot Developments, who have recently restored The Courthouse, are currently marketing The Vaults to potential long-term occupiers. In the meantime, they are delighted to promote the space as a unique venue for Manchester and for similar events to take place in 2018.

“With so many events happening in the city this December, we’re delighted to be working with Plough On Sunday who can offer something truly unique to Manchester,” said Tom Dunn of Henry Boot Developments. “We hope that this will raise awareness of The Vaults to a new audience who may want to use the space for a range of events – like supper clubs, art exhibitions and pop-up bars.”

This immersive performance of Season’s Greetings will open on Wednesday 20th December and will run for three nights. Tickets are just £10 and available to buy here on Eventbrite. Tickets will also be available to buy on the door. Henry Boot Developments will donate all profits made from the performance to Forever Manchester.
