It is with great sadness that Forever Manchester has learned of the sudden passing of our former trustee Gordon Humphreys who served on the board for 16 years between 1992 and 2008.

Gordon was part of the team that transformed the fortunes of the original organisation, then known as the Community Trust for Greater Manchester, which turned over less than £60k in 1997 to today’s vibrant, modern charity now known as Forever Manchester – an organisation that has attracted over £38 million in donations, investment and grant programmes, built up an endowment of £7 million, and made awards of more than £35 million to more than 20,000 grassroots community projects throughout Greater Manchester.

Nick Massey, Chief Executive, said: “Gordon was a very modest man, a great mentor and great company. He’ll be sorely missed.”
