On Thursday 21st September 2023, the Forever Manchester Pop Music Quiz at Freight Island, with guest host John Thomson, raised a fantastic £1,725.
A pop quiz like no other, the night featured a range of topics including Finish the lyric, Guess the Band Logo, and Name That Tune. With answers covering everything from One Direction to The Specials – our supporters (over 100 of them) really had to put their music knowledge to the test!
The brilliant comedian and actor John Thomson was our fantastic quiz master for the night, keeping the quiz running smoothly and creating some great rivalry between the teams. With chances for individuals to win spot prizes throughout the night, incuding a signed and framed This Is The Place print, the overall winning team were Ensemble with an impressive top score of 96 out of a possible 104!
They won a set of 6 tickets to see Elf The Musical, the hit Broadway and West End show – just in time for Christmas! We’d like to thank AO Arena for kindly donating the winning prize, along with a spot prize of a pair of Busted Champagne Experience tickets.
We’d also like to say a big thank you Forever Manchester ambassador Alison Bell, who helped organise the event and wrote the all-important questions! Along with John Thomson for being a fantastic guest host, and Freight Island for providing the perfect space to host the quiz once again.
