Long-term supporters Simon King and Sam Jones have been appointed as Forever Manchester Vice Presidents in the charity’s own version of the New Year Honours list.

The new appointments are the first new ones made since the voluntary roles were first created in May 2015 and are designed to support Forever Manchester’s drive to attract more local business support.

The announcement comes a month before businesses, community groups and community activists themselves are recognised at Forever Manchester’s annual Birthday Party taking place on 9th February 2018 at the Principal Hotel.

Nick Massey, Forever Manchester CEO, said: “Both Simon and Sam have been passionate campaigners for Forever Manchester for many years and I’m delighted that we can recognise their efforts in this way. They will play an important part in our plans for the next few years as we try and get more local businesses supporting the work we do across the communities of Greater Manchester.”

Simon, Senior Relationship Manager at Allied Irish Bank (GB), said: “As a Manchester lad I’m honoured to be taking up this position and really looking forward to helping Forever Manchester drive its profile and fundraising activities in the Greater Manchester region.”

Sam, Managing Director of Tunafish Media, added: “I’ve been involved with Forever Manchester for a decade now and have seen first-hand the impact they have on local community groups and the city as a whole. The work they do is truly incredible and I’m honoured to be asked to support that work in this new role.”
