Laura was born in St Helens and moved to Manchester training as a Chartered Accountant after University as she loved the place. She departed for sunnier climates in Sydney where she worked for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia but missed the “realness” and humour of people from the North West so moved back. She now lives in Knutsford but works most of the week in Manchester.

She said: “I love how fiercely proud and loyal the people of Manchester are about our city! We have some crazy talented people and I am passionate about trying to collaborate and promote this talent in whatever way I can through my work.”

Career wise, on returning to the UK, she worked for The Hut Group as Managing Director of their House of Brands team leading the growth strategy of this new department which was highly acquisitive during her time there.

In January 2017, she set up The Vibrancy Hub with a mission to reduce stress and boost mental health and resilience within the workplace through partnering with businesses to delivery workplace wellness initiatives.

She has also co-founded Float Festival which is Manchester’s first wellness festival, bringing together thought leaders in the wellness industry to the people of Manchester. “We want to really help people to engage with what makes them feel “well” as opposed to buying in to a broad brush health and fitness approach. Less of the striving, struggling and deprivation and more fun and flexibility!”

Float Festival is being held on 22nd September, £5 from the sale of every ticket will come to Forever Manchester to help us fund and support community activity across Greater Manchester.

Laura speaks with great passion about Manchester and the ways in which she can get involved with Forever Manchester: “I am passionate about local communities and the power of community in boosting people’s happiness and therefore Forever Manchester felt like a perfect fit.”
