Stagecoach Manchester has announced Forever Manchester as its new charity partner for 2020, following an employee vote.

Stagecoach Manchester is the leading bus operator in the region, connecting communities, supporting economic growth and working to protect the environment; proud to serve communities throughout Greater Manchester including Salford, Trafford, Stockport, Tameside and Wigan.

Their impact is about far more than transport – supporting the economy, helping to cut congestion on roads, protecting the environment and air quality, boosting safety on roads, and contributing to a healthier nation.

They provide safe, reliable, high-quality, good value and accessible travel. Their team of 2,323 people help to connect over 106 million passengers every year in Greater Manchester across a fleet of 750 buses.

They have invested over £25.8m since January 2015 in new buses and services for the people of Greater Manchester.

Stagecoach Manchester managing director, Elisabeth Tasker, said: “Forever Manchester is a hugely important charity for local people and does work with real meaning with communities and people that need support.

“The team will now get to work with fundraising and I know there is a big appetite to emulate some of the great fundraising activities we have done in the past.”

Jean Mills, Head of Business Development at Forever Manchester, said: “Forever Manchester is delighted to be the new charity partner for Stagecoach Greater Manchester.

“Forever Manchester funds and supports hundreds of grassroot community projects along the routes of Stagecoach buses right across Greater Manchester, so it’s great that Stagecoach wants to give back to the local communities where its customers and staff live and work.”
