On Friday 10th February at our annual Birthday Party we were pleased to announce the winner of the Corporate Supporter of the Year award, sponsored by Brother UK: Convergys!
The award was in recognition of the companies that have demonstrated incredible commitment and support to the work Forever Manchester does, showing their ability to encourage their staff to raise funds, get involved and raise awareness of the charity. The award was presented by Louise Marshall of Brother UK (pictured, right).
Here in the North West, Convergys have sites in Altrincham, Bredbury, Middleton and Gatley. They are proud to have created a culture that encourages the sharing of ideas, where people feel valued and have the opportunity to really make a difference.
Through their Community Action Network, Convergys continually works to improve the quality of life for communities around the world. In 2015, they donated $14,000 to various UK charities through the Community Action Network, in addition to regular employee fundraising activities held throughout the year.
Three of their Manchester-based call centres are supporting Forever Manchester, and their Atlantic Point site in Altrincham has raised over £3,000 since July 2016. They are expecting to raise £10,000 per call centre during the year to fund and support community activity across Greater Manchester. They have run lots of fundraising events for us including a Football competition to coincide with the Euros, indoor Olympics, participated in Caketober, and have lots more events planned for the rest of the year and next. Both the company and the individual employees donate and fundraise for Forever Manchester.
Nick Massey, CEO at Forever Manchester, added: “Convergys is a big supporter of Forever Manchester and, although they are an international company, they recognise the importance of making an impact on the local communities where they and their staff are based. They’re always coming up with new and exciting ideas of how to raise money and make a huge difference, I’m delighted that they’ve won our Corporate Supporter of the Year Award.”
