We’re so excited to welcome Alex Magee as our newest ambassador! When we sat down with him recently, he had quite a lot to say! Alex, you love a good event and a live gig, can you tell us about your favorite fundraiser you have either attended or been involved with? “The best community event or fundraiser I’ve been to was probably Manchester Rocks 2025, where I actually performed as a solo artist. It was such a great atmosphere — seeing people come together through music, support local talent, and raise money for good causes was brilliant. Performing there gave me a real appreciation for how powerful community events can be when everyone gets behind something positive.” If you were given the stage at the next Forever Manchester event, what would be your message to the audience? “If you handed me a microphone at a Forever Manchester event tomorrow, I’d probably talk first about the importance of community and how much of a difference small acts of support can make to people’s lives. I’d also talk about Manchester itself — the resilience, creativity, and togetherness you see across the city — because that’s what makes it special.”
What is one skill or talent you’d bring as an ambassador? “One skill or hidden talent I’d bring as an ambassador is my confidence speaking to people and helping create a positive atmosphere. I’m naturally sociable, enjoy connecting with different people, and I’m also passionate about music and performing. I play golf too and have done since I was a boy, so I’d definitely love getting involved in charity golf days and fundraising events around that as well.” And, what excites you the most about getting involved? “What excites me most about being part of Forever Manchester is the chance to genuinely give something back to local communities and be involved in projects that make a real difference. I love the idea of helping bring people together, supporting local initiatives, and using my personality, enthusiasm, and experiences to contribute in a positive way.” Not only does Alex join our league of extraordinary volunteers to help promote and support the critical work Forever Manchester does in raising funds for Greater Manchester communities, but he is our first Forever Manchester Rocks Champion! Working specifically with the team to bring the next battle of the bands competition to the stage in 2027, Alex will be flying the flag as a previous competitor and all-round FM Rockstar!
