Pride in Place – Delivered from within

Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) training for Local Authorities

The Pride in Place Programme is a flagship UK government initiative committing up to £5.8 billion over 10 years to support 284 disadvantaged communities. Each selected neighbourhood receives up to £20 million to spend on local priorities, such as high street regeneration, green spaces, and community safety.

The programme’s core objective is to shift decision-making power from Westminster into the hands of local people and to empower local people to shape the future of their neighbourhood. Supported by up to £5 billion in funding over 10 years, this programme represents a long-term strategy to fix the foundations in hundreds of communities across the country.

Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) training by Forever Manchester offers a proven approach to build stronger, connected communities by focusing on local strengths and assets. This method supports the Pride in Place initiative by fostering genuine community participation and ownership rather than top-down delivery.

The training equips local authorities with practical skills to identify community assets, build relationships, and enable community-led action.

ABCD encourages a shift from transactional engagement to ongoing, community-driven change, enhancing local identity and partnerships.
Courses are flexible, CPD accredited, and tailored, with pricing starting at £250+ VAT per person for a one-day workshop.
