The Community Builders have put fun at the forefront of their work this summer, continuing the success of their summer pop-up in Swinton, now in Scholes! Taking place at St Pats Rugby Club, the team was met with an incredible turnout for their summer treasure hunt. From sweets and frisbees to backpacks and pens, Lisa and Vikki had loads of prizes for the kids taking part. Pop-ups like these represent one of the steps in the five-step ABCD approach that the Community Builders use to connect with residents. This is the step where the Community Builders identify and connect the people, community groups, organisations and physical spaces that already exist in the area. This highlights the strengths that already exist within the community and allows the Community Builders to then connect those assets and encourage good stuff to happen. The most important thing in building a stronger, more connected community is to involve the people that live there. People are the community’s biggest asset and form the building blocks of a strong and healthy community. This is why the collaborative approach that the Community Builders use is so impactful and important. We would like to say a massive thank you to Kellanova and MF Handbags Ltd for their donations of snacks and backpacks, they went down a treat! View our ABCD Approach
