This October, we’re inviting our brilliant Business Supporters to roll up their sleeves, turn the oven on and raise some dough for Greater Manchester communities.

Whether you’re a Great British star baker or more of a “bunged it in the oven and hoped for the best” type, Baketober is all about having a laugh and backing the people and places that make our city-region what it is.

Savoury or sweet, neat or gloriously messy, every bake helps fund grassroots community projects across Greater Manchester.

And let’s be honest… cake in the office is never a bad idea.

What is Baketober?

You bring the bakes.
We’ll make sure the love stays local.

Baketober is an easy, month-long celebration within your company and you can even take part in fancy dress!

Baketober is a month-long celebration of all things baked, bringing teams together through cake sales, themed bakes, friendly competitions and a bit of healthy rivalry, all while raising vital funds for Forever Manchester.

From Eccles cakes to Manchester tarts (and everything in between), it’s a chance to show some local pride, do something feel‑good with your team, and help make a real impact without leaving the office.

How to get involved

There’s no “right” way to do Baketober – keep it simple or go all out. Here are a few ideas to get the dough rolling:

Get creative

Host a themed bake sale, such as:

• A Manchester favourites table
• Sport-inspired bakes
• A colourful Pride spread
• Hallowe’en treats with extra spook

Get competitive

Add a bit of spice with in-house awards like:

• Tastiest Bake
• Most Creative Bake
• Top-Rated by the Team

(Bragging rights encouraged.)

Get fancy

Fancy turning it up a notch?

• Cake & cocktails after work
• A classic afternoon tea
• Fancy dress baking (yes, really)

It’s your office, your rules. Just don’t forget the cake.
