The Marathon Broadcast Challenge is Coming Atcha! Forever Manchester has teamed up with local community radio station ALL ‘FM’ to undertake a Marathon Radio Broadcast Challenge. The marathon broadcast will event also aim to highlight the role and importance of community radio and raise funds to support the valuable work of local groups and community activities. Similar broadcast based fundraising challenges tend to last 24hrs, this marathon broadcast challenge is aiming to go the full distance of 26hrs 12mins. Taking place across the weekend of 12th/13th October, the marathon effort will welcome guests throughout whilst aking the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the work of local community groups alongside highlighting the important role local community radio plays in both engaging and supporting local people and their diverse and respective communities. A Just Giving page has been set up for sponsors and supporters to show their support and all donors will be entered into hourly free prize draws throughout the duration of the broadcast with opportunities to win anything from His & Hers Hoodies through to Fish & Chip Suppers and a host of other things. The challenge event will be delivered by an heroic team of 5 who will collectively wrap 26.2hrs of continuous radio into one big flowing show. Details of the presenters team will be announced at a later date with income generated from the marathon broadcast effort split between supporting the brilliant work of both Forever Manchester and ALL FM.
