Europia work to support, educate, empower and represent East and Central Europeans (CEE) who have come to live and work in Greater Manchester, helping them to prosper in their local communities. Engaging with a wide range of people, Europia offer support in thirteen different languages and often work with the most vulnerable EU nationals (such as migrant community members) who may feel unable to approach authorities alone. Through the hosting of well-being projects, training sessions, advice clinics and legal education, they make people feel at home in Greater Manchester, connect them with their local communities, and give them the knowledge and skills they need to build a happy and productive lifestyle. They also provide opportunities to get involved in community projects, such as Manchester Day Parade, helping them further integrate into the local area. Established in 2008, the services they provide empower people to gain the necessary short-term support, which leads to lasting positive change in their lives. As a result, members feel confident to contribute society whilst still maintaining (and celebrating) their cultural identities. With a focus on improving health outcomes for CEE communities, they also deliver targeted health campaigns, aiming to educate members on accessing healthcare through the NHS, and raise awareness of how to make services more inclusive and culturally appropriate. It is always worth remembering that, if you support Forever Manchester, you support all this. The ability of local community groups and organisations to best help people in their community remains dependant on maintaining support for them.
