We’re delighted to announce the Connecting Communities Award shortlist which will be presented at Forever Manchester’s Birthday Party on Friday 7th February 2025 at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel. This award is given in recognition of a person or group of local people who have got together to use their skills and talents to put on activity for their community, connecting neighbours and strengthening communities. Greenspace Volunteers Starting with a desire to improve the amenity, safety, and visual appeal of some of the neglected entrances to Reddish Vale Country Park, Greenspace volunteers have worked hard to acheive all that and more. Through teamwork and collaboration, they have installed many new features like: benches, planters, and a disability accessible picnic table, benefitting their local community. Lancashire Hill Family Group Determined to take the needs of their community into their own hands and shed the “hard to reach” label put on them by local services, a group of parents came together to form The Lancashire Hill Family Group, supporting one another by organising community events, holiday clubs and warm spaces during the winter. Manchester Photography Group Manchester Photography Collective, are a community of passionate photographers united by their love of capturing the world around them. Coming from diverse backgrounds and holding unique perspectives, they all share a common thread: a desire to tell stories through the power of photography. St George’s Coffee Morning An intergenerational coffee club project created to encourage grandparents and grandchildren to come together and play and learn from one another. The Quiet Space The Quiet Space provide a hub for Home Educated children between 9 and 18 to socialise, connect, and build friendships. Creating a safe space for those who may be neurodivergent or just prefer a calm space, to build connections to those around them.
