Andrew was born and bred in Glasgow, moved to Manchester in 2008 and is now a proud Castlefield resident and advocate, having joined the Castlefield Forum to develop and promote the area.
In Glasgow, Andrew completed his Business Management degree before moving to Manchester to study a second degree in International Fashion Marketing. While studying Andrew also worked full time at The Principal Manchester as an Events Manager. Since graduating Andrew progressed into Senior Marketing roles including Global Marketing Manager at Henri Lloyd and Head of Marketing for 2squared.
These roles gave him the opportunity to frequently travel internationally and work on events including product launches, PR events, pop-up stores, store launches, international conferences and exhibitions. Andrew took over as Managing Director of Giraffe Event Solutions in 2018 to use his events and marketing experience in large corporate companies to develop the established agency.
Andrew can’t wait to get involved with fundraising for us: “Personally I can fundraise for the organisation through my own network. Hopefully the biggest contribution I can make is using the resources at Giraffe Event Solutions to develop existing and create new events for Forever Manchester.”
He also spoke about his love of Manchester: “I absolutely love Manchester. Admittedly I never intended to stay forever when I initially moved here – I always thought I would move on after university. However the city has such a diverse culture and population, it’s constantly evolving as a city in so many ways with new buildings, restaurants, businesses and new people, so I wouldn’t dream of leaving now! It’s home and I’m a proud adopted-Mancunian.”
