The Byron’s Social Club provide activities for residents at Byrons Residential Home in North Manchester. Most of the residents are aged over 70 years old, many whom have physical disabilities and mental health problems.

The Social Club brings people together by organising social activities like, bingo, coffee mornings, birthday parties, and more recently activities to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Club also makes good use from their very large communal garden where they hold BBQs afternoon teas and summer activities.

The Social Club acts as a vital lifeline for those residents who rarely go out of the Residential Home, especially those who don’t have close contact with their families. The activities and events help to lift their spirits and improve their wellbeing.

Byron’s Social Club also invite friends and family of the residents to get involved in their activities, as well people from the wider community.

It is always worth remembering that, if you support Forever Manchester, you support all this.

The ability of local community groups and organisations to best help people in their community remains dependant on maintaining support for them.
