Forever Manchester have launched our Surviving Winter festive appeal.
The campaign encourages people to donate to help older and vulnerable people have somewhere warm to go to during the colder months, where they can socialise and feel safe and warm.
In June this year fuel poverty figures in Greater Manchester increased at one of the fastest rates in the country, with over 32,000 households in Manchester alone suffering. This is a total of 16% of all houses in the city, which has gone up by 7,000 homes in one year.
The figures also showed that in Trafford, Salford, Bolton, Rochdale and Oldham 11% of households were classed as living in fuel poverty, and in Bury, Tameside and Stockport the figure was 10%.
We hope to fund as many community groups across Greater Manchester thanks to donations to our Surviving Winter campaign.

Applications for the Surviving Winter funds will be open from 1st December.
