Salford Pride’s mission is to work to build a stronger, diverse community that celebrates inclusion and equality; where LGBT+ people are represented, thrive and live authentically, in Salford and beyond.

They deliver a variety of fundraising, awareness and educational projects for the LGBT+ community to enjoy – no matter of background or identity.

Since 2011 they have organised Salford’s annual pride event ‘The Pink Picnic’ in Peel Park where over 7,000 people attend. This grassroot event personifies the true essence of what pride means and what it originally stood for.

The Pink Picnic remains a free community event that promotes and raises the visibility of the LGBT+ community that live, work and study in Salford. With the community at its heart, the event brings together local people, community groups, organisations, charities, and businesses to showcase Salford’s diverse communities.

It is always worth remembering that, if you support Forever Manchester, you support all this.

The ability of local community groups and organisations to best help people in their community remains dependant on maintaining support for them.
