Over 40 backwards runners descended on Heaton Park on Sunday 11th August to complete our Backwards Fun Run raising money for Forever Manchester and community groups.
The Whitefield AODS guys donned their finest 80s gear, whilst our Community Builder Support Worker, Lyndsey Ashworth completed the race with her mum, partner and children and other kids from the neighbourhood to raise money for her weekly community kid’s club Laffs and Crafts.
A big shout out to our ambassadors who took part – Chris Marsh, Steve Kuncewicz, Al Mackin, Jess Cumpstey, Michael Corcoran and Michael Henderson – along with our Chief Exec Nick Massey, Director of Marketing Paul Haworth and Chairman Simon Webber. Our Manchester Million friends All Star Lanes even managed to complete the whole mile long course holding hands with a life-size bowling pin!
Check out the best running faces in our photo album here.
Our runners have raised over £1,800 so far and the donations are still coming in. Big thanks and well done! (Special thanks to ManchesterRadioOnline.com for sponsoring the event.)
If running backwards has got you in the mood for running forwards, why not round up a few mates and raise money for us in the Salford 5k or 10k on Sunday 8th September? You’ve got a month to get training! Find out more at www.runforroundere.co.uk/salford10k.
