It’s getting to be the best time of year again. No, we’re not talking Christmas, the football season or pancake day… we’re talking CAKETOBER.

That’s right, once again throughout the month of October we’ll be asking you, the businesses and communities of Greater Manchester, to get involved in all things cake and fancy dress whilst raising money for Forever Manchester.

Last year was our most successful ever with over 70 Caketober events helping raise an astonishing £9,200 and – you guessed it – we want to beat that this year!

We also had the support of local restaurants and cafes including Bangers and Bacon, Hey Little Cupcake, Federal Cafe, Common and Great John Street.

So how can you help? Well, Caketober is a month-long celebration combining the perfect pairing of cakes and fancy dress in which companies, organisations or just a group of pals can get together to put on a bake sale and don their finest fancy dress in their office, building or home to help raise money that will go to support community activity in Greater Manchester.

Getting signed up is simple, click through here on the Caketober site and just pick a date in October to host your own Caketober event. Then get baking!

We also run competitions throughout the month which you can enter here. A huge congratulations for last year’s winners, UK FAST, who won The Caketober Crown for best fancy dress, The Hill Group LTD who won the Caketober trophy for most money raised, Rachel Rothwell from The Sharp Project who won The Golden Rolling Pin for most impressive cake design, and finally Hey Little Cupcake for winning the King of the Coffee Shops as the café that raised the most money from their on-the-item donation.

A reminder as well that every cake baked and calorie consumed is making a real difference to the lives of those across our Greater Manchester communities.
