Girls Out Loud are an award -winning social enterprise on a mission to raise the aspirations of teenage girls in the UK. Established in 2010 and based in Manchester they create and facilitate early intervention programmes from 2 hours to 12 months in duration, delivered in partnership with schools and FE institutions across the region.

At the heart of their philosophy is a passion to introduce girls to smart, sassy and successful female role models and their core programme BIG SISTER is a 12 month mentoring programme that does just that. Girls Out Loud contracts with a school to work with 20 vulnerable and under- achieving girls who sit in the middle of the cohort and often just cruise along or become invisible looking for validation in all the wrong places.

These girls are then matched with 20 Big Sisters, women from all walks of life and the group work together as a family unit for 12 months. The overall objectives of all Girls Out Loud programmes is to change the landscape for girls by improving their self belief, emotional resilience, social mobility and confidence, which in turn, helps them to re- connect to education; think big and reach for the stars.
