Tunafish Media is hosting Manchester’s first business Dodgeball tournament, Forever Ballin’, to raise money for Forever Manchester.

Thursday 26th November, 5pm – 7.00pm.
Manchester Velodrome
Stuart Street, Manchester M11 4DQ

15 teams have signed up to dodge, dip, duck, dive and…dodge their way through the 3 minute matches in a tournament taking place at Manchester Velodrome this evening. There will also be the opportunity for teams that sign up to have a Dodgeball taster session provided by a representative from the World Dodgeball Association, giving them all the tips they need to storm the tournament!

Ric Brooks, Director at Tunafish Media and Forever Manchester Ambassador said: “Tunafish Media is a long-term supporter of Forever Manchester and we wanted to put on a fundraising event that brought businesses together in a lively and stimulating atmosphere.

“Dodgeball is simple, fun and suitable for everyone to try, so it is perfect for a work team sport, and the World Dodgeball Association has been a brilliant support already, along with local businesses like Fatsoma. There will be a DJ, a winners trophy and prizes up for grabs including a meal for 2, for the best dodgeballer, at local eatery Neighbourhood  – all the ingredients for a top event!”

The Forever Ballin’ tournament is timely with the inaugural Dodgeball World Cup taking place in Manchester in 2016. With this in mind the event has the full support of the World Dodgeball Association who are keen to encourage growth of the sport amongst local businesses and community groups and sees this event as the perfect springboard for this activity.

Tom Hickson, President of the World Dodgeball Association, comments:

“At the World Dodgeball Association we believe it extremely important to support the competition to raise awareness of the great charitable work of Forever Manchester and to raise awareness of Dodgeball across Manchester.

“We aim to help create a number of new workplace based Dodgeball Clubs following the competition as a part of our legacy plans of the inaugural 2016 Dodgeball World Cup Manchester, that is taking place from the 14th-17th April at the new National Basketball Ball Arena.”
