We are delighted to announce that the latest round of Forever Manchester Awards is now open for applications from Community Groups in Greater Manchester.

Forever Manchester is offering awards of up to £1,000.

Forever Manchester believes that connected communities make stronger, happier communities, so we love any activity that brings people together. Forever Manchester Awards supports groups to run activities that do just this.

For this round of Forever Manchester Awards we specifically want to fund community groups in Greater Manchester whose activities have been disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic and who wish to get back up and running.

We are grateful to Barclays, whose generous donation is helping us to fund applications in this round.


Fund Criteria

We welcome applications from locally managed community groups based in any of the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester.

For this round, we specifically want to fund groups whose activities have been disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic and who haven’t been able to interact with and provide positive things for people in their community, as they normally would.

Who can apply?

Forever Manchester Awards aims to support grassroots community organisations. This means small, community-based and locally controlled groups that manage themselves, encourage people to get involved as volunteers and who just need a bit of financial help to be able to work with their community in the way they’d like.

Applicants must be based in one of the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester and have an annual income of less than £25,000.

Groups who have already received funding from the Community Support Fund for Covid-19 response activity are not a priority for this round of Forever Manchester Awards.

How much can you apply for?

The maximum award request that will be considered is £1,000.  

What can you apply for?

You can apply for what you need to allow your group to get back up and running and connecting with the people in your community.

Local groups understand how they can best help their communities at this time, so we don’t want to limit the type of request you can make. You just need to let us know what you want to do and what positive things your activity will provide for your community.

Is there anything you can’t apply for?

Unfortunately, there are a few things that can’t be funded, such as activities that have already taken place or been paid for, contributions to major appeals or salaries, activities promoting political or religious beliefs and activity which should be provided by statutory services.

Deadline for Applications

We will close for applications at midday on Friday 2nd October 2020. Any applications received after this time will not be considered.

How long will a decision take?

For this round of Forever Manchester Awards, we aim to let you know the outcome of your application by the end of November 2020.

Please do not plan to start any activity until after you hear if your application has been successful.
