Chorlton Arts Festival is one of the UK’s leading multi-arts festivals. Now in its 13th year the festival showcases local and national talent in music, comedy, visual arts and performance.
On Saturday 18th May, Forever Manchester will have a stall at Chorlton Festival Arts and Craft Market so come along and say hello. On the stall we’ll be showcasing our Manchester Music Artwork designed by award-winning designer, Si Scott. The market is one of the most visited events during the festival and has traditionally marked the opening of the festivities with a range of entertainment, arts and craft stalls and food and drink ensuring that there is something all members of the community to enjoy.
The Arts and Craft Market is held at St Clement’s Church, 6 Edge Lane, Chorlton M21 9JF. Click here for a map.
On Sunday 19th May, MaD Theatre Company, one of the groups that we support, are performing their latest production ‘Posh Tramps and Papooses’. Well-known for their tongue-in-cheek scripts and infamous characters, Posh Tramps and Papooses won’t disappoint – telling the story of Ma Longbottom who was divorced in Moston’s first ever same-sex split. In an attempt to put it all behind her she hooks up with Hector the Metrolink Inspector who takes her on the holiday of a lifetime … to Chorlton! The audience is thus taken on a hilarious journey when north and south Manchester meet.
Those fortunate enough to attend our First Friday networking event at the Town Hall Tavern on 3rd May were treated to a scene from the show. If you missed out don’t worry as we managed to capture a bit of footage to give you a taster of what to expect on the night.
So if you’re on the hunt for a great night out to see some theatre but not as you know it (and aren’t easily offended) then we highly recommend Posh Tramps and Papooses at Chorlton Irish Club.
