It’s getting close now to the unveiling of the limited edition Forever Manchester Cocktail. It will be available at Gusto Manchester from Friday 1st May.
We’re very exciting to be heading to Gusto on Monday 27th April, where our three esteemed judges will make the final decision between the three cocktails Gusto have created. Here is a little information about the lovely bunch that will be making the biggest decision regarding drinks Manchester has ever known.
Helen Ramsbottom has been a Forever Manchester ambassador for the last two years. She is the managing director of A Foot in the Door and is part of the team that created the new food and drink magazine of the North West, Bitten. A regular on the food and drink scene in Manchester she is a perfect spokesperson for deciding on the fate of our three cocktails, which one will make it to the launch.
Our second judge is founder of Manchester Confidential, Mark Garner aka ‘Gordo’. He is the chief food and drink publisher at the online magazine and has been a long-time supporter of Forever Manchester. With over 13 years at Manchester Confidential, Mark is a fantastic addition to help decide on what a Manchester themed cocktail should have to make it ‘Manchester’.
Finally we have Colin Knott who has spent the last 25 years working his way up a series of cocktail and flair bars. He has been involved in opening over 50 bars in the UK and has consulted for many restaurants and hotels, including TGI Fridays Master Bartender Program. Colin has been working for Living Ventures for over 11 years and we can’t wait to get his take on the Forever Manchester Cocktail.
The final choice will be available from May 1st so get yourselves down to give the winning creation a taste, help raise funds to support Forever Manchester and see if it gives you that unique Manchester buzz. With Vimto, honey and Manchester Tart all competing to be part of this taste sensation we can’t imagine Gusto going far wrong, and we can’t wait to see what our judges choose.
Jennifer Stuart of Gusto Manchester says
“We have chosen to do this because it’s such a fun engaging way to support such a great, local charity. Our bar team are so excited to create the cocktails which will be judged and there’s already healthy competition surrounding the winning cocktail! We’re really looking forward to having the cocktail on the bar throughout May and can’t wait to serve as many as possible to the people of Manchester.”
£1 from every cocktail sold throughout May will come to Forever Manchester and the funds raised will go back into community groups and projects across the whole of Greater Manchester, helping extraordinary people do extraordinary things.
