We’re delighted to have won the Big Society Award at the prestigious National Charity Times Awards.
The award was made in recognition of our innovative work in Greater Manchester where we have successfully piloted an Asset Based Community Development approach to connecting communities over the last 18 months.
By setting up the UK’s first Community Building team, working initially in Oldham and Trafford, we have proven that this way of encouraging local people to work together using the skills and ideas that they have within their own neighbourhoods can transform local communities.
Chief Exec, Nick Massey said: “It is a fantastic accolade to win this award – particularly in this category, which is about inspiring local people to be more active in their local areas.”
Andrew Holt, Editor of Charity Times added: “In a category that was immensely strong, Forever Manchester’s clear leadership, vision and impact really stood out. For Forever Manchester to win such a coveted award highlights the fantastic work the organisation has undertaken. Many congratulations must go to Forever Manchester for their outstanding work”
