Residents of Alt in Oldham kicked their summer off with a bang on Saturday with their summer fayre.
The longest day of the year didn’t disappoint with its weather and the resident-led event saw nearly 400 residents enjoy the day.
The fayre was held at Alt Primary School and saw 15 of our Cash4Graft awardees in attendance, including the infamous Alt Jim Jam Girls.
With a £250 Cash4Graft award, as well as support from First Choice Homes the event managed to raise a massive £750. This will be split evenly to improve the school playground and to add to the pot for the next fayre held in Alt.
As well as the residents of Alt having a great day, the fayre also became a hub to create a lot of new ideas to bring the community together, giving the whole event a brilliant community spirit. One resident said: “It’s nice to see people supporting the school and getting together as a community”.
Oldham Counsellor Jenny Harrison added: “Saturday’s event was really good. My grandson had a great time and what a magnificent sum raised! Great action from the group”.
