It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of The Duke of Westminster.

The Duke served as President of Forever Manchester from the mid-nineties until 2014 when he accepted the role of Honorary Life President.

Nick Massey, Chief Executive, says: “Quite simply Forever Manchester would not have made it into the noughties had it not been for the generosity and support of the Duke of Westminster. He understood the value of local communities and that money can’t buy happiness and health.”

The Duke fronted the 1999 Helping Hand Appeal for Forever Manchester, matching over £1 million of donations made to Forever Manchester by local businesses and the general public to create a permanent legacy for the people of Greater Manchester.

Phil Jones, Forever Manchester’s current President, said: “On behalf of everyone associated with Forever Manchester I’d like to extend our sincere sympathy to His Grace’s family at this sad time. He will always have a place in our hearts here in Manchester.”
