At the start of the year, we launched Women in Neighbourhoods (WiN) – an exciting new initiative to encourage women to get involved with community building and connecting communities.
Since its launch, we’ve seen women across Greater Manchester going from strength to strength, and our latest success was the launch of the first WiN Network in Bolton.
Launched at a drop in coffee and chat session at Slaterfield Community Hall, the event was attended by local women and led by Gulnaz Parveen, MD of Asian Women’s magazine BEE. Gulnaz took part in our initial WiN training in January and enjoyed it so much that she was keen to extend the activity by launching the WiN Network.
Gulnaz comments: “Forever Manchester’s WiN training really got me thinking about what more I could be doing with my local community, and who else I could involve. The Network is a great way to bring together local like-minded women and get people involved and working together to improve where we live. We’ve already got lots of things planned including a range of fundraising and social events, and a book profiling some of the women involved.”
Great work ladies, keep up the good work!
