ALL FM 96.9 is a community radio station that is all about giving a voice to the people and communities of Greater Manchester. With over 14,000 listeners per day, it describes itself as the ‘Real Voice of Manchester’, broadcasting shows ‘For the Community, By the Community’.

Regular programmes include six foreign language shows, shows by and for Carers, those on the Autism Spectrum, those with disabilities and mental health issues, people from BAME and LGBTQ+ communities, women, older people and a mix of specialist music shows.

ALL FM also provide radio production training and broadcasting opportunities particularly for those at risk of isolation. They train people in all aspects of radio production including: writing and devising a show, interview skills, using studio software, audio editing, talking on the mic, and working as a production team. Once trained, they are offered the opportunity to become volunteer programme producers and radio presenters.

Since 2004, ALL FM has been making a significant and continuous positive impact on people lives and recently won the National Community Radio Awards Community Radio Station of the Year (2019/20) as well as receiving the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2021.

They currently have more than 100 active volunteers involved in presenting and producing shows or supporting the administration. The volunteers, just like the shows, reflect the diverse communities that make up Greater Manchester.

It is always worth remembering that, if you support Forever Manchester, you support all this.

The ability of local community groups and organisations to best help people in their community remains dependant on maintaining support for them.
