£1,000 doesn’t go far these days!

At Forever Manchester we pride ourselves in getting grants right into the heart of local neighbourhood throughout Greater Manchester, from Alt to Altrincham, from Brinnington to Billinge from Milnrow to Miles Platting and all points North, South, East and West.

Over the last 30 years we have deliver over £60million into our local communities.

We have only been able to do this with the support of some genuinely enlightened and philanthropic Greater Manchester based businesses.

But since 2009 the size of the average grant we make has remained the same.

Roughly £1,000 to approximately 1,500 grassroot community groups year in year out. Great stuff… yes but what £1,000 bought in 2009 would cost £1,681.06 today.

The Food Banks, The Warm Spaces, the money advice programmes, the children’s projects, the special educational needs and disability programmes, the homeless projects, the domestic violence shelters, the friends of groups, the junior football teams and uniformed organisations, the bereavement and dementia support groups the breakfast clubs, everyone, everywhere facing the impacts of  massive and ongoing local authority budget cuts, the brutal economy and the continuing aftershocks of COVID. Many of our grassroot, volunteer led community groups are literally on their knees.

Venue hire, rent, utility bills, volunteer expenses and training, publicity, specialist workers, refreshments, insurance, IT costs, cooking, sports and play equipment hire and purchase.

£1,000 no longer does the job.

We need more local businesses to get involved. Can you help? Can we have a chat? Get involved. Join the Movement. Forever Manchester.
