Ambassador Danny Franks’ inaugural ‘Tour de Manc’ takes place on 12th June with the option of ‘The Full Manc’ (100 miles) or ‘The Half Manc’ (100km).
We are looking for 100 cycling enthusiasts to put in blood, sweat and gears to raise money for Forever Manchester. So far, almost half of these places have been taken, so don’t miss out!
With just under 8 weeks to go, you can register today for just £25 per person. Proceeds for your sign up will be split between Forever Manchester and HaTS Charity. Once you’ve signed up, you can then start fundraising for Forever Manchester by using JustGiving. See our helpful guide here.
The rides are taking place from St Mary’s Park in Prestwich on Sunday 12th June. Registration is at 7am with riders being staggered in groups of 10 until all 100 have gone. It is anticipated that each ride will take between 6-8 hours with ‘The Full Manc’ riding at an average speed of 16mph and ‘The Half Manc’ riding at an average speed of 10mph.
The cycle, which is not for the faint hearted will tour the beautiful sights which can be found across Greater Manchester. Sights such as the views from the heights of Werneth Lowe and Birtle as well as cycling through villages such as Delph and Denshaw.
Of the event, Danny said: “After seeing the Tour de Yorkshire a couple of years back, I thought that the Tour de Manchester would be a great challenge for those living in Manchester who wanted to ride a tough route in and around Greater Manchester. There were several interesting areas I passed through last year and I hope that the riders will enjoy the route we’ve got for them this time.”
It’s £25 per rider to sign up. If you choose to fundraise for Forever Manchester by registering for the Tour de Manc, all the monies you raise will go toward supporting community projects across Greater Manchester and stay within our region.
