Sunday 8th September saw the streets of Salford lined up with over 3,500 runners as the City of Salford 5k and 10k runs made its return.

Here at Forever Manchester, we had 4 people running the City of Salford 10k as part of our Run For Round ‘ere campaign which has already raised over £10,000 to support communities across Greater Manchester.

Massive thanks goes out to our 3 Ambassadors Susie Bell, Alan Townley and Chris Marsh for taking on the 10k challenge. With the Salford 10k being the third run Chris has completed for Forever Manchester this year, he definitely deserves a ‘Running Man of the Year’ award. Special thanks also goes out to Paolo Feroleto who has entered the Salford race 2 years on the trot on our behalf.

The weather held out for the race but there was plenty of drama on the day with the first race being delayed due to the trams still running on the route of the runners. In another twist, the second place winner of the ladies 10k race sensationally turned out to be male and he was quickly disqualified.

If you want to take part in a run with a twist then why not give Run in the Dark a go? It does exactly what it says on the tin… run in the dark to raise money for Forever Manchester. Click here for more HERE.
