Sunday 24th May saw the streets of Manchester lined with over 40,000 runners as the Bupa Great Manchester Run hit town. We even had some sunshine too!

Here at Forever Manchester, we had over 100 people running the Bupa 10k as part of our Run for Round ‘ere campaign and we’re looking set to raise over £10,000 to support communities across Greater Manchester.

A big shout out to some of the companies that ran for us: Beever and Struthers, Creative Spark, e-foods, The Co-operative, Unibox, Brazen PR, Fichtner and Madson Interim Solutions. We’d also like to say thanks to our lovely ambassadors who took on the challenge: Chris Marsh, Alan Townley, Claire Leaman, Natalie Gray and Siobhan Hanley.

The atmosphere in the city centre was electric and it was amazing to see the number of people running for good causes, as well as the hordes of spectators who came along to cheer everyone on. Personal highlights of the day include seeing Woody and Buzz Lightyear cross the finish line, high fiving Fabrice Muamba, and the battle for jelly babies at the 8k mark!

If your legs aren’t completely destroyed, why not round up a few mates and raise money for us by taking part in our Backwards Run (11th August) or the Salford 5k/10k in September? Some people are saying that running a mile backwards is harder than doing the 10k, but I’ll let you be the judge of that…
