Talk UX is the first UX conference to have a female only line up and Forever Manchester have been chosen as the charity partner.

Hosted by the organisers of Ladies That UX, Talk UX aims to give females a platform to talk at conferences and showcase the contribution they are making to the tech community.

Hosted at Manchester Town Hall this Thursday (5th March) from 9am as part of Women’s History Month, Ladies That UX want to change the way conferences are run and held by creating a more personal experience.

Over the course of the day different areas that make up a UX role will be examined; from research to data schema, highlighting the breadth of knowledge in our area, and the fantastic work that is being done by women from a variety of areas and industries. Talk UX wants to lead by example, and what better way than show the contribution that women are making in technology?

Talk UX have said: “The organisers are really looking forward to starting something which the community in Manchester and worldwide can be proud of.”

Talk UX have chosen Forever Manchester as the event’s charity partner. Proceeds from the raffle at the event will go to Forever Manchester to invest in community projects across Greater Manchester, with particular focus on projects that celebrate the role of women in neighbourhoods. Forever Manchester will also have a visual presence at the event in the form of a stand.

Jean Mills, Head of Business Development at Forever Manchester explained “From our experience of working in in neighbourhoods over the last 25 years, we have found that women are at the forefront of change within our communities. It’s fantastic that Talk UX are recognising the contribution of women in the digital sector here in Manchester and we’re delighted to have been approached to be Talk UX’s charity partner”
