Our Community Builders’ Winter-Que Ideas Party was a hit in Victoria Park.

Held on Saturday 8th November, the weather stayed dry and not even X Factor or Strictly could hold the Stretford residents’ passion for their ideas back.

Organised by our Trafford Builders, James and Alison, the Winter-Que saw approximately 60 residents attend the event creating four new groups with possibly more in the future due to the relationships that were made on the night.

The event was a progression of the Community Builder’s Ideas Works events in Trafford and Oldham and was a success with the residents. One said: “What a great idea, it’s good to get out and meet new friends as well as others I’ve met through my involvement with Forever Manchester”

Trafford Community Builder, James Hampson said: “The event was a great chance for the community to get together and do something a little different, and what could be more different that a barbecue in the winter? Hopefully it will give people a shared experience to talk about in the future as well as kick starting new ideas”

Cash4Graft awardees the Stretford Un-Camera Club took photos on the evening, one of which can be seen above. It’s great to have our Cash4Graft awardees still involved with our events and expanding their network among residents.

The residents are now planning their own Winter-Que in the coming months because they enjoyed it so much. They hope to get even more residents involved and bring the wider community together.
