A hero has surfaced at recent Birthday Bash sponsor Metronet (UK) in the form of Engineer Antony Phillips.
Antony, who’s from Whitefield in Bury has previously ran the 10k for us but now he’s going bigger and better for 2016, signing up for seven different running events including the Manchester 10k again, the Spartan Race, Tough Mudder and the Royal Marines Commando Challenge, which, for want of a better word looks terrifying! Antony is also set to sign up for three more challenges taking his total to 10.
Antony’s hoping to raise £1,000 for Forever Manchester in the process, which you can help him with.
29-year-old Antony has set up a JustGiving page and has so far raised £100. To donate to his crazy fundraising challenge, click here to head to his JustGiving page.
Of his challenge, Antony says: “Forever Manchester is a local charity and the work they do affects the whole of Greater Manchester and the neighbourhood I live in. I love a good challenge and thought this was a great way to raise funds for Forever Manchester.”
It is great to see employees of our Corporate Partners so determined to raise funds for Forever Manchester and we look forward to watching Antony’s journey over the course of the year.
Jean Mills, Forever Manchester’s Head of Business Development said: “What a star Antony is. He ran the 10k for Forever Manchester last year and this year he’s got 10 events planned to support us. He’s demonstrating real dedication – and a great attitude and appetite to make a real difference at a local level and that’s what Forever Manchester is all about.”
“Metronet (UK) has been supporting the Forever Manchester charity for the past 3 years in a number of ways”, said Sian Ciabattoni, Marketing Director of Metronet (UK). “As well as being a Manchester Million member and sponsoring the annual birthday party for 2 years in a row, staff members have also been involved in raising funds by running the Manchester 10k, jumping from planes and taking part in Tough Mudder. We are really proud that Antony has decided to take on these challenges and raise money for Forever Manchester at the same time”.
Metronet (UK) will have 6 representatives in total at this year’s Manchester 10k. If you’d like join them and represent Forever Manchester click here to sign up.
