Meet Peggy Mulongo, guest speaker at our FM Women Event on 7th October

We are delighted to welcome Peggy Mulongo from NESTAC, as guest speaker at our next Forever Manchester Women event on Wednesday 7th October (5pm-7pm)

Peggy is an expert in delivering cross-cultural psychosocial therapy to refugees and asylum seekers, especially women from African descent, who have experienced mental distress such as that associated with Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

As well as being the co-founding member of NESTAC, an organisation addressing the needs of African communities living in Greater Manchester, Peggy is a FGM Campaigner and FGM Trainer, teaching at University level and raising awareness on the issues surrounding FGM practice amongst professionals and within practising communities. She delivers high quality consultancy services and training sessions to various enterprises and organisations; locally in Greater Manchester, nationally and in African countries.

Peggy was featured on BBC North West Tonight Comic Relief Special in March 2015 to raise help raise awareness of FGM.

Forever Manchester Women is an event for the women of Greater Manchester to come together and feel supported and inspired. After the success of our previous two events, we are pleased to announce that the next event, kindly sponsored by KPMG, is taking place on Wednesday 7th October 5pm-7pm at KPMG’s new offices in St. Peter’s Square, Manchester.

We’ll also be doing a raffle on the evening, which will raise money to help us to support female-led community projects across Greater Manchester.
