Kellogg’s Sponsor FM Birthday Bash

September 11, 2015

Global brand Kellogg’s has signed up to sponsor the This is The Place Award at our Birthday Bash.

The ‘This is the Place’ award is in recognition of a group of residents who have formed and developed a new community project to benefit others in their local neighbourhood.

Kellogg’s established its first UK factory right here in Manchester in 1938.

The Trafford Park factory is Kellogg’s largest factory and produces more cornflakes than any other Kellogg’s factory in the world. It is also the location of its UK headquarters.

Since 2005, Forever Manchester has been working with Kellogg’s to fulfil its charity ethos, providing both strategic and administrative support on its charitable giving projects. The funds we have managed have included:

  • The Kellogg’s Active Living Fund (2006 – 2010)
  • The Kellogg’s Employee Match Fund  (2006 – 2012)
  • The Kellogg’s Corporate Citizenship Fund  Programme for Europe  (2006 to the present day)
  • The Help Give a Child a Breakfast programme to support breakfast clubs
  • Kellogg Company 25 Year Employee Fund
  • The Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Network Sustainability Package

We have recently worked closely with Kellogg’s to provide the hugely successful Holiday Breakfast Clubs programme in five communities across Greater Manchester. Each breakfast club provides a free nutritional breakfast as well as various activities for families. This initiative reflects Kellogg’s belief that every child starts the day, the right way with the most important meal of the day – breakfast.

April Armstrong, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, Kellogg’s UK & ROI said: “We are delighted to sponsor the ‘This Is The Place’ award at Forever Manchester’s Annual Birthday Bash. After all this is the place where Kellogg’s established it’s UK operations over 75 years ago, this is the place where our staff live, work and play, and this is the place that we call home.”
