Jean and Ged’s Journal
In our monthly fanzine, Jean and Ged, our Business Development Team write their journal. Here’s this month’s instalment…
We’ve had some great meetings during the last few weeks…
We met with the team at Hologic in Wythenshawe, which is a leading global healthcare and diagnostics company and Forever Manchester is delighted to be chosen as their Charity of the Year.
We also visited Pure Innovations in Stockport and appeared on their radio show. Forever Manchester funded the café at the project and it was great to meet the team there and appear on the show interviewing the guys who use the café.
We’re also looking ahead to our Corporate Lunch at Cloud 23 at The Hilton in Beetham Tower. Barclays UK have kindly sponsored the two course lunch, where our President Phil Jones will be speaking as well as our Chief Exec, Nick on 8th July.
We’re holding the event to celebrate the support of our corporate partners over the last year and the impact their support has had across Greater Manchester communities.
20th May was our regular meeting with Manchester Arena, who have chosen us as their Charity of the Year. They have come up with a whole host of ideas to raise funds for us.
We met with our fabulous Ambassadors Charlotte Brinsley and Harriet Sutherland at Slater and Gordon’s offices on Mosley Street to discuss our new networking event, Forever Manchester Women – and loved the massive lamp in Reception and felt it deserved to feature as our Office of the Month (pictured).
On the 22nd April we held our first FM Women networking event at Great John Street Hotel. 45 women from across Greater Manchester came together to raise £1,135 and network and hear from Ameena Ahmed who talked about her personal experience of working with women around empowerment in their lives and Jean also spoke about some of the fantastic women’s projects recently supported by Forever Manchester.
We’ve received some fantastic feedback about the event and so we’re delighted to announce the next Forever Manchester Women event which will take place on Wednesday 8th July at the Ainscow Hotel with guest speakers, Louise Marshall of Brother UK and Fran Barker, founder of the Barker Baker. The event is kindly sponsored by Brother UK.
