International Women’s Day 2016

March 8, 2016

This International Women’s Day Forever Manchester is focusing on female-led community groups and projects that we’ve proudly supported over the last year.

As well as this, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Sam Booth on the Forever Manchester Board. Sam’s inclusion means that women now represent 50% of the Board at Forever Manchester, which we are proud to embrace as a significant acknowledgement of the role women play in the success of the region of Greater Manchester.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is ‘pledging for parity’ and here at Forever Manchester we are proud to be an equal opportunities employer and are pleased to shout about the incredible work women do in communities across Greater Manchester each and every day.

Head to our homepage to see today’s focus on female-led community projects across Greater Manchester as well as blogs from Forever Manchester Trustee and Brother UK Director, Louise Marshall and successful business owner, Forever Manchester supporter and previous Forever Manchester Women speaker Fran Barker.

We are also pleased to announce Forever Manchester Women: April will be taking place at Slater and Gordon’s offices on Moseley Street in Manchester City Centre and will be kindly sponsored by them too. This will be taking place on Wednesday 20th April 5-7pm and tickets are available now. Priced at just £20 per person, which will include a welcome drink and canapes, the event is set to be another sell out and will once again raise money to support female-led community projects across Greater Manchester. Click here for full information on the event.

One inspirational female in our community is June Kelly MBE, who as well as being commended by the Queen, also won a Pride of Britain Award in 2013 because of the incredible work she does in her community.
